easyJet’s Latest Cabin Baggage Allowance 19/8/15
All passengers
ONE cabin bag
Maximum size of 56 x 45 x 25cm including handles and wheels.
easyJet Plus, FLEXI fare, Upfront and Extra Legroom customers
One cabin bag as above
Plus ONE additional small under seat bag (For example a handbag or laptop)
Maximum size of 45 x 36 x 20cm which will need to be placed under the seat in front.
Our boarding priority is that easyJet Plus customers will board first followed by passengers who need assistance, then families and finally all other passengers. So locker space will be available for those passengers with medical needs for their flight for items such as wheelchair parts or medicines (in line with our safety standards).
Is there a weight restriction on cabin baggage?
There is no weight restriction for cabin baggage. As long as you are able to place the bag into the overhead locker and get it out again without assistance then the bag will be accepted into the cabin
Will my cabin bag be checked before I board?
Yes, your cabin bag will be checked for its size with a baggage gauge (the orange bag size baskets or cages) at the Bag Drop desk and at the boarding gate
What happens if my cabin bag is too big?
If your cabin bag is larger than the maximum cabin bag size (56 x 45 x 25cm including handles and wheels) the Bag Drop desk will ask you to check the bag into the aircraft hold and a charge of £30.00 will apply. If you go directly to the boarding gate and your cabin bag is larger than the maximum cabin bag size, your item will be checked into the aircraft hold and a charge of £45.00 will apply.
What happens if cabin storage is full? Will I have to put my bag in the hold?
We only have a limited amount of cabin space on the aircraft so on busy flights it’s not always possible to fit everyone’s cab bags on board the aircraft.
Overhead locker space is allocated on a first come first served basis and once the overhead lockers are full all remaining customers will be asked to put their cabin bags in the hold free of charge as long as their cabin bag does not exceed the maximum cabin bag size of 56 x 45 x 25cm.
Can I take extra cabin baggage when I’m flying with my infant?
If you’re travelling with an infant (under 2 years of age) you can bring an additional small baby changing bag on board the aircraft. This bag can be no larger than 45x36x20cm and must be placed under the seat in front of you. Under seat bags are limited to a maximum of one bag per seat. If you’re an easyJet Plus, Upfront/Extra Legroom customer or have purchased a Flexi fare you will already have an additional under seat allowance and are therefore unable to bring a second under seat bag on board the aircraft.
If, however, you have booked a separate seat for your infant, they will qualify for one piece of cabin baggage within the normal baggage size restrictions, just like grown-ups.
